Letter to Donald Trump
Robson Matos
His Excellency President Donald Trump,
I'm sorry to inform you, but Your Excellency seems to have been deceived
by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Allow me to explain. Brazilian citizen Abraham Weintraub has two
inquiries at the Supreme Court of Justice in Brazil and as a result he decided
to be a leave Brazil. To circumvent the ban on Brazilians from entering the
United States, he flew to your country last Friday night, apparently carrying a
diplomatic passport. As Your Excellency's decree allows Ministers of State to
enter the USA, he took advantage of this loophole to enter your territory. However,
as soon as he passed through Immigration Authorities, Weintraub was exonerated
from the post of Minister of State by President Jair Bolsonaro.
Weintraub has been in Miami since the morning of last Saturday and as
the photo shown, has not been in quarantine.
Your Excellency, at a press conference, said that you did not want
Brazilian citizens to go to the USA and infect your people. I agree with your
point of view. I also would not be satisfied with a citizen of a country with a
high rate of infected people entering Brazil and contaminating my countrymen.
For this reason, I feel obliged to inform you that this citizen, now a former
Minister of Education of Brazil, has participated, on numerous occasions, in
agglomerations, in which he and several around him did not wear a mask.
Therefore, Weintraub may be putting your country's population at risk.
I don't know what your participation was in this process, but your
excellence may be complicit in Weintraub's “escape” from Brazil. Yes, I call it
an escape because his departure from the country was to avoid the ongoing
investigations about him.
I hope that you will cancel the visa granted to Weintraub. This visa was
a dirty and childish subterfuge to deceive American immigration officials.
Sincerely,
